How to read the numbers
Labels
- n sample size
- Every rate, average and percentage carries its n: the number of matches (or snapshots, or prices) it was computed from. Below 10 treat it as a hint, not a fact.
- Computed
- Derived by alldata.monster from raw data in our store, not supplied by the source. Example: a league table built from final scores (3 points a win, then goal difference, then goals scored). It can differ from the official table where points were deducted or matches awarded.
- Estimate
- A model output, not an observed fact: probabilities, fair odds, expected corners or cards. Estimates are always marked and never mixed into observed columns.
- — (dash)
- The value is missing. Hover or focus it for the reason (not provided by the source, not enough matches, not played yet). alldata.monster never fills gaps with guesses.
- Live, HT
- Live means seen in play in the worker’s last poll; HT (half time) counts as Live. A match whose kick-off is more than 3 h ago and is not in the live feed counts as settled.
Odds, edge and verdicts
- Our est. and Fair
- Our estimate is the model’s chance that a selection wins, pushes removed. Fair odds = 1 / chance (adjusted for pushes).
- Edge
- Chance × best price − 1. Positive means the price pays more than our estimate says it should.
- Confidence (0–5 dots)
- One point each for: 10+ recent matches for both teams; 90%+ of competition matches with the stat; our estimate within 5% of the no-vig market; 3+ books quoting with Pinnacle present; a shorter-window fit within 3%. Corner and yellow-card markets are capped at 3, “Cards” markets at 2.
- SUSPECT
- The price is never shown as value when any of these holds: edge above 15% (more likely a model or data problem than a real mistake by a bookmaker); the best price more than 8% above the median of books; our estimate more than 12% away from Pinnacle’s no-vig price.
- Verdicts, in order
- Suspect, then Uncertain (confidence 2 or less), then Value (edge ≥ 3% with confidence ≥ 3), Fair (edge within ±3%), otherwise No value.
Live numbers
- Pressure and dominance
- Built only from changes between our own snapshots of the live feed (weights: attack 1, dangerous attack 2.5, shot off 5, shot on 8, corner 4; half-life 5 min). They start when capture starts, so a match first seen at minute 60 has no earlier pressure. Not calibrated against outcomes yet: read as a picture, not a probability.
- Stale
- No successful poll for a while (network or source trouble). The last known state stays on screen with the time it was captured.
